The Youth Project, Halifax

The Youth Project is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing support and services to youth, 25 and under, around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. It is a youth directed organization, where youth have decision making control over the direction and action of the Project. 

The Project is committed to providing leadership opportunities to lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender and ally youth. It provides a variety of programs and services including support groups, referrals, supportive counselling, a resource library, educational workshops, social activities.

It promotes and nurtures an environment that is appreciative of youth from all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds. 

The Youth Project also delivers labour educationals and training to the PSAC Atlantic Council on Safe Spaces. PSAC Atlantic participates in the yearly "Strike Out Homophobia" bowl-a-thon organized by the Youth Project. Last year, PSAC was recognized as the major fund-raising team.
